Scott began his accounting career at the Costa Mesa, California office of the international accounting firm Deloitte Haskins & Sells (predecessor to Deloitte & Touche). Scott spent over five years with Deloitte and specialized in manufacturing, publications, health care and government contracting companies. Scott then spent the next fifteen years in private industry in various senior accounting and financial positions with both small entrepreneurial and large companies headquartered in Orange County, California.
His positions included Corporate Controller for For Better Living Inc., a publicly held manufacturing & publications company; Chief Financial Officer for Sechrist Industries, Inc., an international medical devise & health services company; Financial Officer for Pacific Life Institutional Products Division; Chief Financial Officer for various internet companies affiliated with Freedom Communications; and Vice President of Shared Services for Freedom Communications Metro Division. Scott has spent the remainder of his business career in the public accounting practice providing tax and accounting services for businesses, individuals and trusts. Scott’s business clients include manufacturers, professional services, construction, health care and other services.
Scott received his undergraduate degree in business administration, accounting concentration, from California Polytechnic, San Luis Obispo. He graduated Magna Cum Laude and was inducted into Beta Gamma Sigma honorary society. Scott later received a Master of Business Taxation (MBT) from University of Southern California where he also received an additional recognition from Beta Gamma Sigma for scholarship at a graduate level.
